This thing is super ghetto. Built in the late 70's or early 80's she has seen better days and for the most part is completely un used. The concrete panels are lifting causing big steps to appear between the slabs, there is no coping which means the edges are all broken, brittle and sharp as razors. It is also chocka block full of dirt, mud, rocks, sticks, logs, chunks of concrete and sometimes even a dead bird or two. At the end of the day though, it's something to skate. There is a new skate park being planned for Kingscote as we speak but until then, this is really the only skateable bit of land in the town. Bring a broom, you will need it. It's good fun, pretty fast and sketchy as shit. If skating anywhere else in Kingscote (try near the jetty and in the school), keep an eye out for the police. They are bigger as holes there than your average city cop and they will try to take your board away. Know though that they can't do it by law so DO NOT hand over your board to the police. Enjoy!
